Tourism Development Department (TDD) was established in 2005 under the
Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism where the main responsibility
is to develop tourism industry in the country. Tourism industry has been
identified to have high potential in contributing towards the growth
and diversification of the economy, employment and small, medium
enterprises (SMes). In 2015, the tourism industry has contributed about 2% of the country Gross National Product (GDP).
