Package Development:The core function of this unit is to identify and curate tourism products and destinations suitable for packaging for tourists. This role encompasses various key responsibilities, which include: - Conduct thorough market research to understand packages trends, consumer preferences, and emerging travel interests.
- Assess the appropriateness of tourism destinations and offerings for packaging by considering factors such as accessibilty, quality of infrastructure, cultural and natural significance, and safety in place.
- Provide advisory to hotels, travel agents and tourism service providers to enhance the marketability of their products and packages.
- Compile agents' packages and provide advisory on the packages prepared by agents.
- Develop comprehensive tourism packages that integrate multiple products, activities, and services to create memorable experiences for tourists.
- Collaborate with tour operators, travel agencies, and hotels to design attractive itineraries and bundled offerings.
- Prepare itinerary for both agents and media / KOL famtrips
- Plan and coordinate agent famtrips.
Promotion and Market Access:The core function of this unit is to handle all promotional activities for local and international target markets. This role encompasses various key responsibilities, which include:
i) Domestic - Plan and manage roadshows and carnivals
for domestic tourism (Kenali Negara Kitani, KNK).
- Prepare brochures, banners and other
tourism merchandises for promotion.
- Handles welcome reception at airport /
cruise ship centres.
ii) International
- Plan and manage TDD participation in
international expos.
- Liaise with event organizers and
participating agencies on all matters related to the expos.
- Identifying potential international
agencies for networking and facilitating business connections with local
agencies.
- Facilitate networking / business matching
sessions between agencies.
- Advise and compile packages prepared by hotels and travel
agents for the expos (and networking session).
- Conduct brefings to media and other
stakeholders.
Digital Marketing:- The core function of this unit is to strategically promote destinations, attractions, and tourism-related services to target audiences through various digital channels. This role encompasses various key responsibilities, which include:
- Digital Strategy Development: Develops comprehensive digital marketing strategies aligned with the overall objectives of the department.
- Content Creation and Social Media Management: Liaise with appointed digital marketing agencies to:
- create engaging and relevant content that showcase the tourism offerings effectively.
- manage and optimize social media platforms. This includes creating and curating content, scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and running paid advertising campaigns to increase brand visibility and engagement.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Liaise with the appointed agency to ensure Brunei Tourism websites and content rank well in search engine results pages.
- Influencer Marketing: Engage and collaborate with influencers to leverage on their audience and influence in promoting tourism destinations and experiences.
- Collaboration with Online Travel Agencies (OTAs): Work closely with OTA partners to negotiate favorable terms, coordinate promotional activities, and ensure that Brunei is effectively represented on their platforms.
- Analytics and Performance Monitoring: Tracking and analyzing key metrics across all digital marketing channels
- Crisis Management: Prepare guideline for crisis management and monitor online conversations and addressing negative feedback or crises promptly to maintain a positive brand reputation.
- PR focal for Brunei Tourism: To address any inquiries or requests from international media / agencies on PR / promotional matters and prepare press releases / articles for local / international media.
- Manage activities at the Tourist Information Centres (TICs) including the Kampong Ayer Cultural and Tourism Gallery, TIC at Brunei International Airport and Cruise Ship Centre in Muara.
