Marketing Communication


  • Planning, developing and implementing PR strategies

  • Prepare action plan for PR activities with objectives and timeline to increase awareness of Brunei Darussalam domestically and internationally

  • Liaising with and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations, often via telephone and email;

  • Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media;

  • Preparing corporate presentations and supervising the production of publicity brochures, handouts, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programmes;

  • Monitor and update contents, accuracy, relevancy and information in printed promotional material;

  • Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, public roadshows (eg schools, Government agencies) and Familiarization trips (press tours)

  • Coordinate and provide presentations for Tourism Department to local and foreign delegations visiting the Ministry;

  • Managing and Updating information through online communications and engaging with users on social media sites 

Strategic Development and Research


  • Recommending and devising policies and strategies for the marketing and promotion of Brunei as a tourist destination;

  • Preparation of long term plans, yearly marketing plan, media plan, trade fairs and roadshow plans with the relevant officers;

  • Market intelligence analysis, gathering and monitoring;

  • Setting and Implementing strategies, activities, objectives and targets for the Division;

  • Create strategic partnerships and collaboration with Tourism Stakeholders (local and international industry and media partners) that will benefit and assist with promotion of the tourism industry in Brunei;

  • Coordinate with relevant authorities for facilitation of hosting of MICE events;

  • Conceptualize / assist international sporting / cultural / entertainment events held in Brunei, and coordinate their cross border / international marketing.

Domestic and International


  • Identify market specific ways to enhance destination awareness and market creation, and to achieve individual market area objectives

  • Prepare a market area specific marketing and media individual action plan and budget according to objectives and following a month by month timeline

  • Make preparations for trade fairs / road shows / sales missions / product updates / food and cultural promotions in market area, according to individual action plan

  • Seek / propose market area specific joint marketing activities / tactical promotions / brochure support with Brunei / market area industry / airline partners

  • Organize / entertain requests for industry group / individual familiarization visits to Brunei / Brunei + neighboring destination, according to individual action plan or on an ad-hoc basis to seize a relevant opportunity

  • Monitor publication / showing of print / electronic media features, coverage, news, reports, documentaries in market area, calculate / evaluate media value generated by coverage
